Chop Top is our highest-cutting compound, with zero fillers and a cut aggressive enough to remove up to 1500-grit sand scratches and severe defects on the hardest clear coats. Because it is a diminishing abrasive, it still finishes down to an impressive gloss, which is rare for something this aggressive. It was designed for a rotary and wool pad but works excellent on a dual action too.

Still finishes well: The diminishing abrasive refines as it breaks down, so it leaves a surprisingly clean finish for a heavy cutter.

Pads we pair with it: The Deck Hand White medium-cut wool pad on gel coat, or a microfiber cutting pad on clear coat. On a dual action, use Uro-fiber on hard paint or HDO blue foam on softer paint.
Boost your cut: We sometimes add a little Chop Top to the same pad as Classic Cut to give a job a bit more cutting power when it needs it.

How to Use
Rotary
Run a wool or cutting pad with a slow, controlled arm speed so the compound can maximize its cut.
Wipe and inspect.
Dual action
Use a microfiber cutting pad and work the section with slow passes and moderate pressure.

A spritz of Shine Mist extends the cycle time.
On gel coat, follow your Heavy Cut step with Chop Top on a Deck Hand wool pad, then move to Wake Up.
On clear coat, follow with Classic Polish on an HDO orange foam pad.
I am correcting the paint on my wife's Mercedes prior to ceramic coating there were some scratches that I could not get out and was worried about damaging the clear coat I called shine supply and spoke to an actual detailer who suggested adding some chop top to classic cut and it worked great. I would not have felt confident calling a different supply company and getting a salesman. I spoke to somebody who actually details cars for a living and has used all of these products and definitely headed me in the right direction. The company is just great to work with

Buddy of mine invited me to his shop to help him wet sand and buff, to show him a better way to achieve the best results, I use choptop. After roughly 2-3 passes with it all the sanding marks are completely gone. My buddy says I make it look easy. I’ll live and die by choptop, the finish speaks for itself! This is by far the best cutting compound I have ever used. This was on single stage paint and paired with a rupes blue wool DA pad. The compound offers a fast cut with an amazing finish and is also great when used outside in the heat.
I have been using chop top for years. It’s simply the best compound on the market all the way around! This was paired with heavy cut but only on gel coat do I pair anything with chop top! From paint corrections to enhancements and scratch removals this is the best it gets!
I made the mistake of running out of this and using the 3m product. I only use 1/3 of this product compared to the other one, which makes this a less product. Also, this product is much easier to wipe off when done buffing. You can also use this product as a final step or use burn out.

This is a great follow up to Heavy Cut to get all of the swirls out of the gel coat before the polishing step. Every marine detailer should have at least a gallon (or three) of this in their arsenal. Highly Recommend!
