Wheels and tires

Clean every inch

A wheel brush gets the easy 70 percent. The barrel, the backs of the spokes and the area around the caliper are where brake dust actually builds up, and that is where most people stop. These two get the rest of it.

The Wheel Mitt Start here

The Wheel Mitt

For the face

Plush twist loop microfiber that holds a ton of suds and flexes into tight spokes and lug areas. You feel your way around the wheel instead of swinging a brush at it.

Reach for it whenYou want to clean the wheel face by hand and keep anything stiff off the finish.

  • Flexes into spokes, lugs and intricate designs
  • Interior finger loops for a no slip grip
  • Safe on painted, polished and coated wheels
  • Two pack, so a clean one is always ready

  • Reaches the barrel and the backs of the spokes
  • Wraps around calipers and tight spokes
  • Soft microfiber, safe on every wheel finish

Never heard of us?

A family business, not a brand

Jeremy Stevens started detailing in 1996 and built Shine Supply out of the family garage in 2008. His two sons work alongside him today, and it is still run out of one shop in Ventura, California. It has never been sold to private equity and it never will be.

Step one

The rest of the wheel and tire setup

Do the wheels before you wash the paint, so fallout and cleaner do not land on a clean finish. Rinse your tools often while you work, because trapped grit is what causes marring even on a soft tool.

Questions we get

Do I need both, or will one do?

They do different jobs. The Wheel Mitt cleans the face, the spokes and the lug area, and it is the one you will reach for every wash. The Barrel Runner gets the barrel and the backs of the spokes, which is where brake dust actually piles up and where no brush reaches.

If you are only buying one, start with the mitt. If your wheels have tight spokes or you have never cleaned the barrels, the Runner is the one that will surprise you.

Will these scratch my wheels?

Both are soft microfiber and safe on painted, polished and coated wheels. What causes marring is not the tool, it is grit trapped in the tool.

Rinse the mitt and the belt often while you work, and let the wheel cleaner do the breaking down before you agitate. That is the whole technique.

Why do the wheels before the paint?

Wheels are the dirtiest part of the vehicle, and wheel cleaner atomizes. If you wash the paint first, the overspray and the fallout land on a clean panel and you end up doing it twice.

Wheels first, rinse, then move to the paint. Every time.

Can I use the wheel mitt on my paint?

No. Once a tool picks up brake dust and metal particles it never touches a painted panel again. Keep your wheel tools and your paint tools completely separate, and wash them separately too.

Who actually owns Shine Supply?

Jeremy Stevens. He got into detailing in 1996, started Shine Supply out of the family garage in 2008, and it has grown into what it is today. Two of his boys work alongside him, and the rest of the team has been with us a long time.

No private equity, no parent company. Just the family and the people we work with every day.

What if I have questions before I order?

Call us at 805-535-4332. You will talk to a real person every single time. You can also email Info@shinesupply.com and someone will get back to you.

Customer service is the foundation of this whole company. Ask us anything before you spend a dollar.

Can I buy this on Amazon?

No, and that is intentional. Staying off Amazon lets us keep full control over the experience and the connection to our customers.

It also protects our reputation and the reputation of the dealers who carry our product and use it to provide for their families. We want them to have full ownership of that. shinesupply.com is the only place to get it.
