Wheels and tires

Reset your tires

Tires go blotchy because people dress over old dressing. Strip the sidewall first, then put down the finish you actually want. Two products and about ten minutes.

Never heard of us?

A family business, not a brand

Jeremy Stevens started detailing in 1996 and built Shine Supply out of the family garage in 2008. His two sons work alongside him today, and it is still run out of one shop in Ventura, California. It has never been sold to private equity and it never will be.

What you put the dressing on with

A big brush on a low profile tire flings product all over a clean wheel. A small brush on a 35 inch tire takes forever and goes on uneven. Match the brush to the sidewall.

How it is done

Clean, dialed, no sling

Decked Out is water based, so it conditions the rubber and brings the color back without the greasy silicone film that slings onto your paint and grabs dust.

1

Strip the sidewall

After your wash, spray Wise Guy on the tire and scrub it to pull off old dressing, browning and road film. This is the step people skip, and it is why tires come out blotchy.

2

Rinse and let it dry

Rinse the tire clean and let it dry all the way. Do not dress a wet tire. The dressing will not bond evenly and it will streak.

3

Mix the finish you want

Decked Out is a concentrate. Cut it 1 to 1 for high gloss, 2 to 1 for satin, or as far as 10 to 1 for a flat factory matte. One bottle instead of three different dressings.

4

Lay it on and level it

On a truck tire, mist it on the sidewall, let it soak, then even it out with a brush. On a low profile car tire, load the brush instead of the tire so nothing lands on a clean wheel.

Before you order

Questions we get

How do I get a matte finish instead of a shiny one?

Dilute it further. Decked Out is a concentrate, so the ratio decides the finish. Cut it 1 to 1 for high gloss, 2 to 1 for satin, and as far as 10 to 1 for a flat factory matte look.

That is the whole reason it is sold as a concentrate. One bottle covers every finish instead of making you buy three separate dressings.

Why do my tires come out blotchy?

Almost always because dressing is going on over old dressing and browning. The new product cannot bond evenly to a sidewall that already has a layer sitting on it, so it goes down patchy.

Strip the tire with Wise Guy first, every time. Let it dry completely, then dress it. That one step fixes most blotchy tire problems.

Which brush should I use?

It depends on the tire, not the vehicle. A low profile car tire gives you almost no sidewall to work with, and a big brush ends up flinging product onto a clean wheel, so use the Feather and load the brush instead of the tire.

A truck or off road tire has a big sidewall that takes a lot of product. Mist it straight on and level it out with the Tire Dressing Brush, or with the Leveler that comes in the truck version of the Tire Dressing Kit.

Will it sling onto my paint?

Decked Out is water based rather than a silicone slick, so it soaks into the rubber instead of sitting on top of it as a greasy film. Let it absorb before you drive and you should not get sling.

If you are getting sling, it is usually too much product at too strong a dilution. Back the ratio off and do a second light pass instead of one heavy one.

Who actually owns Shine Supply?

Jeremy Stevens. He got into detailing in 1996, started Shine Supply out of the family garage in 2008, and it has grown into what it is today. Two of his boys work alongside him, and the rest of the team has been with us a long time.

No private equity, no parent company. Just the family and the people we work with every day.

What if I have questions before I order?

Call us at 805-535-4332. You will talk to a real person every single time. You can also email Info@shinesupply.com and someone will get back to you.

Customer service is the foundation of this whole company. Ask us anything before you spend a dollar.

Can I buy this on Amazon?

No, and that is intentional. Staying off Amazon lets us keep full control over the experience and the connection to our customers.

It also protects our reputation and the reputation of the dealers who carry our product and use it to provide for their families. We want them to have full ownership of that. shinesupply.com is the only place to get it.
