Never heard of us?

A family business, not a brand

Jeremy Stevens started detailing in 1996 and built Shine Supply out of the family garage in 2008. His two sons work alongside him today, and it is still run out of one shop in Ventura, California. It has never been sold to private equity and it never will be.

In action

What it looks like on a car

Both cannons throw the same thick, clinging foam. This is what a full blanket looks like before you ever touch the paint.

The OriginalThe Original

Foam thick enough to sit on the panel and cling to the wheel while it works.

The SlimThe Slim

A full blanket over a whole car in one pass, before anything touches the paint.

The foam is not the wash. It lifts and floats the loose dirt so there is less grit for your mitt to drag across the paint.

The difference

Four things change

The metal, the canister, the cap and the pickup. Everything else about these two is identical, foam included.

The Foam Thrower

The Foam Thrower

Alloy, 1.2mm, 1L

Alloy body and the tougher bottle. The original, and still the workhorse.

Reach for it whenYou run strong chemicals through it, or you want the bottle that stands up to the most abuse.

  • Alloy body
  • Injection molded 1L canister with better acid and alkali resistance
  • Improved cap threads for a tighter fit
  • Wide mouth, so filling it is easier and it balances better when full
  • Pickup runs through a plastic filter, so grit stays out of the line

The Foam Thrower Slim

The Foam Thrower Slim

Brass, 1.2mm, 1L

Brass body, clear bottle, locking cap. The refined build.

Reach for it whenYou want to see your soap level and pull every last ounce out of the bottle.

  • Brass body
  • Clear 1L canister, so the soap level is never a guess
  • The cap locks instead of threading. Half a twist and it seats, so there is nothing to tighten down
  • Stainless steel counterweight ball on the pickup, so it keeps drawing when the bottle is low or leaning
  • 360 degree spray control at any angle

$75.00and up

Short version. The Slim is brass with the clear bottle, the locking cap and the weighted pickup. The original is alloy with the tougher, more chemical resistant canister, improved cap threads and a filtered pickup. Neither one runs on a garden hose.

The build

Neither one is the downgrade

People assume the newer one is strictly better. It is not that simple. The Slim gives you a brass body, a clear bottle you can read at a glance, a cap that locks with half a twist, and a stainless steel counterweight ball that keeps drawing soap when the bottle is low or leaning.

The original gives you an injection molded canister with better acid and alkali resistance, a wider mouth that is easier to fill, better balance when it is full, and a filtered pickup. If you run strong chemicals through your cannon, that bottle is the one you want.

Questions we get

Which one should I get?

Both throw the same foam, so it comes down to the build. Get the Slim if you want the brass body, the clear bottle and the pickup that keeps drawing when the bottle is low. Get the original if you run strong chemicals through your cannon, since its injection molded bottle handles acids and alkalines better, or if you want the wider mouth for easier filling.

There is no wrong answer here. The original is not the old one we are clearing out, and the Slim is not a stripped down version.

Does either one work on a garden hose?

No. Both need a pressure washer. The Slim runs at 1600 to 2200 PSI. There is no version of either one that will foam off a hose bib.

How much soap do I use, and which one?

2 to 4 oz, then fill the rest of the bottle with water. Soap first, water second, every time.

Hotshot for a straight high foam wash or paint prep, Shift if the car is ceramic coated, Shine if it is waxed or sealed. A 16 oz of your choice comes free with either cannon.

Who actually owns Shine Supply?

Jeremy Stevens. He got into detailing in 1996, started Shine Supply in 2008, and it has grown into what it is today. His two sons, Colby and Cory, work alongside him, and the rest of the team has been with us a long time.

No private equity, no parent company. Just the family and the people we work with every day.

I have never ordered from you. What if I have questions?

Call us at 805-535-4332. You will talk to a real person every single time. You can also email Info@shinesupply.com and someone will get back to you. Customer service is the foundation of this whole company, so ask us anything before you spend a dollar.

Once you order, we ship almost everything within one to two business days.

Can I buy this on Amazon?

No, and that is intentional. Staying off Amazon lets us keep full control over the experience and the connection to our customers.

It also protects our reputation and the reputation of the dealers who carry our product and use it to provide for their families. We want them to have full ownership of that. shinesupply.com is the only place to get it.
