How To Wax Your Vehicle While You Dry
INTRODUCTION
Have you ever wanted to protect your vehicle’s finish but didn’t want to deal with the hassle of traditional waxing: applying, waiting, and wiping it all off? If so, you’re not alone. The good news is, we’ve got you covered. In this blog, we’ll show you how you can protect your vehicle for up to 6 months with just one product. All you have to do is spray it on while you dry, and instantly your vehicle is sealed, protected, and shining like new.
TUTORIAL VIDEO
If you’re more of a visual learner, this video walks you through the entire process in action; showing exactly how to wax your vehicle while you dry using Wet Detailer.
STEP 1: CLEAN
The first step in protecting your paint will always be a proper wash. Begin by using a high-cleaning, pH-neutral soap like our Hot Shot Soap along with a soft, paint-safe wash mitt such as the Flat Out Wash Pads. This combination ensures you safely lift away dirt and grime while being gentle on your clear coat, leaving you with a clean surface that’s ready for protection.
Pro Tip: If your paint feels rough to the touch or you notice heavy contamination, it’s important to take an extra step before applying protection. Using a clay bar, or a synthetic clay mitt or towel, will remove the bonded contaminants from your clear coat. This not only restores smoothness but also allows your wax or sealant to bond more effectively, giving you longer-lasting durability and improved performance.
STEP 2: DRYING
Once your vehicle has been washed and rinsed, it’s time for the fun part. Grab a soft drying towel, like the Shine Supply Drying Towel, along with Wet Detailer Express Sealant. Before drying each panel, spray 1–2 mists of Wet Detailer directly onto the surface, then dry it in with your towel.
Wet Detailer activates the second it contacts water, helping your drying towel absorb moisture faster while laying down durable wax polymers. The result is a protected finish and a drying process that’s faster and more efficient. Even better, Wet Detailer can be used safely on paint, glass, chrome, vinyl, and plastic trim — without leaving behind any white residue.
Pro Tip: After towel drying, use an air blower or compressed air to remove water from cracks and crevices where towels can’t reach. This prevents leftover drips and ensures a spotless finish.
STEP 3: FINAL WIPE
This step isn’t mandatory, but it’s highly recommended for the best results. After drying in Wet Detailer, you may notice some light shadowing where the product hasn’t fully leveled out: this is completely normal. To perfect the finish, grab a detail spray like Ride Shine and a Cosmo Plush Microfiber Towel. Spray a light mist of Ride Shine onto the towel and gently wipe down each panel.
This quick wipe will remove any leftover residue from the drying process, leaving the paint perfectly leveled, extremely slick, and glossy. The bonus? Ride Shine works on more than just paint — you can safely use it on chrome, glass, wheels, and trim for a crisp, uniform finish all around your vehicle.
